Even if you don't have access (yet) to the all the programming and second screen, it still provides so many videos, news stories, bios, and photos that you won't be bored. The WWE app is the best way to get your wrestling fix.
Second screen is an interesting feature which other companies have tried with mixed results in the past, but the vocal wrestling fans and the sleek design of the app may turn out to be a success. This could include backstage interviews, match continuations, or polls which affect live events. Second screen is an interesting feature which delivers extra content to your phone while watching a WWE event. In total, there's an impressive 1500 hours of ondemand video. There's also access to classic matches, episodes of weekly shows such as RAW, and nearly all PPV from WWF, WCW, and ECW. The amount of original programs is a good start, but it remains to be seen if it continues to be updated with fresh programming. The WWE is also producing original programming such as a series documenting the "Monday Night Wars" between the WWE and its rivals over the years. So far, the WWE is handling the high volume of HD traffic very well and outside of the bumps expected of a new video streaming app, there haven't been too many reports of delays. The quality of the live video is excellent and an innovation in television. Paying $10 a month could potentially save you hundreds annually.
Offering access to the big events, such as Wrestlemania, is an incredible incentive for wrestling fans who usually have to fork out $55 per event. The WWE plans to roll out the app to countries in Europe sometime this year. This also applies to the original programming, classic matches, and the second screen feature. First and foremost, the WWE network is currently only available in the United States. The most touted feature of the app is access to pay-per-view-events for $10 a month at a minimum six month agreement by signing up with the WWE network. Each wrestler has a detailed biography that includes their personal biography, professional history, fighting style, and even their entrance video. The amount of information on past and present wrestlers is staggering. There's access to the latest wrestling news, short video clips of interviews and matches that can be watched horizontally, an enormous library of photos, and an incredibly detailed library of wrestler bios.
Outside of the video options, WWE has lots of ways to waste time for the wrestling superfan.
